INTERVIEW: Charles Peterson, Grunge Photographer

By Connor Norris. July 27, 2020.

This latest interview was with a person who has an incredibly unique perspective when it comes to music, especially when it comes to music photography. Charles Peterson was on the ground in the Pacific Northwest when the "Grunge Revolution" broke out, giving first light to bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and more.

Peterson's characteristic photographic style embodied the wild scene of Seattle and surrounding Pacific Northwest communities in the late 1980s and early 1990s, shooting black-and-white wide-frame images of crowded concerts of bands that would go on to become legendary. On the ground for such a revolutionary time in music history, I gained insight into some of his experience in the latest norrisreport.com interview.
