On Saturday, I was able to speak to someone who has access to the "other side." I say other side in such a dramatic fashion, because it was the first time that I had spoken to someone that called some of my heroes by their first names; Josh for Josh Homme, Jesse for Jesse Hughes. These people are untouchable in my book... Me, a fanatic in Fort Lauderdale Florida, vs. most of the people who I look up to on the other side of the United States in Los Angeles. The idea of connection to them is hard to grasp. But I've sought out to fly close to the sun... but in this case, the sun is warm, not hot.

My guest, Jennie Vee, talked to me about a similar concept in the latest norrisreport.com interview. She mentioned how, when growing up, she was determined to meet those she looked up to. Many years and tours with her heroes-turned-friends later, she resides in Los Angeles playing in one of the grooviest rock and roll bands today.

Jennie Vee is a member of Eagles of Death Metal, one of my favorite bands, which features Jesse Hughes on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, featured Dave Catching on lead guitar, and was founded by Josh Homme, who occasionally plays drums for the group. Not to forget, the band makes hits. Jennie plays bass in this bass-driven, fuzz-pedalling, ass-shaking group, and was able to give me some insight into her experience as a musician and a dream-chaser in one of my most exciting interviews yet.
